Help preserve and maintain Meher Baba’s Place in Sydney

“I love Meher House and always feel at home here.”

~ Meher Baba ~

Sydney, June 7, 1958

Francis Brabazon’s vision was to build a Centre for Meher Baba on the land he had purchased in Beacon Hill, Sydney. In 1954 when Meher Baba directed Francis to hand the place over to Bill Le Page and for Bill to be the Caretaker and live there with his wife Joan and their three children, it took on the dual role of Centre and family home.

In 1956, Meher Baba came to Australia for the first time and stayed in the house at Beacon Hill fulfilling Francis’ wish that it be blessed by His Presence. He came again for a day in 1958 on his return from His stay at Avatar’s Abode in Queensland. It was the last place He visited in the West.

He stated during His first visit that He loved this place which Francis had built and dedicated to Meher Baba with such love, and that He felt happy there. In the 1960’s He named the place Meher House and stated at various times over the years that it was one of His Places and that it should never be sold.

After Joan’s passing in 2012, and looking to the future and Meher Baba’s directive that Meher House should never be sold, in 2015, Bill established The Avatar Meher Baba Trust Australia and transferred the legal title of Meher House to the Trust.

The operation of the Trust is governed by its Trust Deed. The Trustee of the Trust is Meher House Pty Ltd (MHPL), a single-purpose Company set up to perform the Trustee role. MHPL is governed by its Constitution  which is administered by a Board of Directors.

I have come not to teach but to awaken. Understand therefore that I lay down no precepts. . . I repeat, I lay down no precepts. When I release the tide of Truth which I have come to give, men's daily lives will be the living precept. The words I have not spoken will come to life in them.
